Re: STEPPIR will soon cease production
Someone gave me one of their early 3-element yagis and the control box awhile ago with one bad element. Tape is screwed up in one of the elements. I think because they’re no longer going to support hams I’ll make it into a rotatable dipole and use the rest for spare parts.

Looks good. Do you know if there's one for a TR-35?

Re: Hello from South Africa.
Hope to have a QRP to QRP QSO with you at some point while you're operating POTA. I just started activating a few parks; mostly a hunter though.

Re: 29.5 ft EFRW for QRP
https://k7mem.com/Ant_End_Fed.html#Not_Random_Multi Andrew do you actually have experience with a 29 ft end fed antenna? I do, and it works pretty well on 40-10 with a 9:1 transformer. no, didn't try it; but the fact that it's shorter than 1/4 wave on 40 raises some doubt about its radiation effici...

Whenever I use mine it works fine. Certainly not a dummy load.Andrew (grayhat) wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 11:26 am being able to "load" or "tune" if you prefer does not mean efficient radiation a dummy load will "tune" just fine

Re: 29.5 ft EFRW for QRP
I built and tested an EFRW / 9:1 Unun antenna with 29.5 ft (9m) radiator and single 17 ft (5.2m) counterpoise. With Elecraft KX2 internal tuner, I can reliably tune 60m to 10m bands. I am using it for QRP CW field (POTA) operations, and have had a respectable number of contacts. Deploying it is ver...
